Spellbound Gift Tag – Spellbinders Craftoween Day 7

It’s Day 7 of the Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween Advent Calendar. This time we have some cute stackable books and drippy candles. I used the books on a my earlier tag to give my skull and raven something to rest on. This is definitely a set you could use on non-Halloween cards or tags as well.

Using my Essential Arches dies from Spellbinders, I used the 7th largest die to cut an arch from some retired Stampin’ Up patterned paper and then from a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock. The white just adds some sturdiness to the tag because the patterned paper is quite thin and also double sided so I wanted to hide that other side. I adhered those two pieces together with liquid glue and then used my Crop-a-Dile Eyelet and Tag punch to attach a black eyelet.

Next I die cut my pieces from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock. Then I grabbed some Altenew Fresh Dye inks (listed below) and ink blended by die cuts as shown above.

I messed up my first Spellbound banner. I ink blended it way too dark and the words were lost. So, instead of trashing that one, I just used it as an offset to the new one I made. After assembling the rest of my die cuts, I placed those onto my tag as shown in the photos. I popped the candles up on a bit of foam tape to account for the offset from the books. My embellishments are some glitter enamel dots that I’ve had for years from Stampin’ Up. The purple color went really well with the ink color I used on the books.

My ribbon is an assortment from my stash which includes Stampin’ Up and some I’ve purchased from Michael’s over the years. I just chose five that coordinated with the colors of my tag. I fed them through the eyelet and tied them in a knot.

That completes my Day 7 tag using the 13 Days of Craftoween Advent Calendar. This was a quick one but still really cute. If you’d like to see the process video, check out my YouTube link below. As always, thanks for stopping by today. Now go get crafty!
