Clean and Simple Card – Altenew Dainty Bouquet

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a card style that I don’t often create. It’s a clean and simple, almost one layer, card. This was inspired by Altenew’s Clean and Simple Boutique Cards class taught by Jennifer Rzasa. I loved a card she created in the class that had a single stamped image in a corner leaving the rest of the card panel as white space with a simple sentiment. I pulled out my Dainty Bouquet stamp set to create a similar look.

First, I grabbed a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock measuring 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches. I secured that in my Misti stamping tool and then placed my first stamp image from set in the bottom left corner. After stamping the first image, I placed the subsequent images in the stamp set as outlined in the layering guide and stamped those on the card panel. I stamped using Altenew Fresh Dye inks in the order below.

Once my focal image was stamped, I needed a sentiment. I grabbed my Pocket Sentiments stamp set and chose a simple sentiment for this simple card. I placed that just to the right of my image and stamped in Moon Rock Altenew Fresh Dye ink. With my stamping done, I knew I wanted to adhere it to a Kraft card base so I trimmed it down to allow for a small border around the edge using my Tim Holtz paper trimmer. I glued this to the Kraft A2 side-folding card base (measuring 5 1/2 by 4 1/2) using Art Glitter glue. For a finishing touch to the front, I used Champagne Celebration Baubles from Trinity stamps just around the sentiment. The jewel picker tool is great for placing those small embellishments in just the right place.

Now for the inside. The Dainty Bouquet stamp set comes with two floral images, one larger than the other. I used the smaller of the images to stamp a panel for the inside of the card. Again, I did my stamping in the Misti stamping tool. I used the same Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock and the same ink colors to stamp in the bottom right corner of the panel, allowing the stamping to go off the edges. Once stamped, I trimmed the panel down to 5 1/4 by 4 inches and adhered to the inside of the card base using Art Glitter glue.

And that’s it! This card was DONE. If I need a card in a flash, clean and simple is the winner. I really love the Dainty Bouquet stamp set for cards like this because the images are large and don’t require a lot of steps. It would be easy to make a set of Thank You cards to give as a gift. So, check your stash for a similar stamp set or grab this one from Altenew. I hope you found something to inspire you today. Thanks for stopping by! Now go get creative.

  1. Beautiful CAS design Jen, I like that you chose a somewhat muted autumnal color palette with this lovely stamp set and that you continued the design inside the card. TFS.

    1. Thank you so much! I loved how these colors worked together on this card. It feels very quiet and calming.
