Halloween Wreath but Make It Pretty

I’m back with another Halloween card but this time, I wanted something pretty. I decided to go with a similar color theme to this card I made last year. The Halloween Wreath Builder from Pretty Pink Posh gave me everything I needed to make this beautiful Halloween wreath.

I started by cutting all my pieces for my wreath using some scrap cardstocks in a warm gray, dark gray, black, light orange and a peachy orange. I also cut my bats from black glitter cardstock. To add some dimension, I ink blended my die cuts in coordinating inks listed at the end of this post. I assembled my wreath so that it didn’t go all the way to the top and place my bow there. For my bow, I actually cut it twice from cardstock and then trimmed the tails off the piece of the top layer to make it look like a double bow.

I placed three pumpkins at the bottom and popped one up on foam tape. After I did that, I decided I wanted to add white and black splatter. I put my assembled wreath in my splatter box and covered the bow and the pumpkins so I didn’t get splatter on those because I wanted them to stand out. Then I used my Altenew Titanium White and Carbon Black Gouache to add splatter. Luckily I forgot to add my bats until after I had already added the splatter. :)

To anchor my wreath, I chose to use the largest Stitched Arches die from Pretty Pink Posh. I cut that from Spellbinders Chiffon cardstock and then added some ink for an aged sort of look. I used Dusty Pink and Earthy Rose Fresh Dye ink from Altenew. I just added a few spots randomly on the arch to create some dimension.

I used a piece of Gina K Slate cardstock as my card base. It’s hard to tell in the photos but I added some Altenew Pure Graphite ink to the edges to create some interest around the arch. Then I adhered my arch to the card base with liquid glue as well as my wreath. Then I added some bronze sequins I’ve had for years into my wreath as well as around it. My sentiment is from the Halloween Banner Greetings stamp set and the Banner Greetings 4 dies.

For the inside of panel of my card, I used the same stitched arch and inking plus another die cut sentiment and leftover die cuts from my wreath. I always try to cut a little extra so I have something for the inside of my card. I adhered everything down with liquid glue and that completed my card.
