Channeling Christmas Spirit in July - Front Porch Scene Honey Bee Stamps -

It’s July so we can officially start Christmas crafting. I’m pulling out some of my sets I’ve purchased but never used. Today I’m going to use the Honey Bee Stamps Front Porch die set and couple other add-on sets to create a lovely Christmas porch scene.

I wanted kind of a modern farmhouse look so I grabbed some Pebble and Wheat cardstock from Concord & 9th to die cut my front porch and door. Then I used some cardstock scraps for all the decorative elements. I doubled up my garland and wreath die cuts to make them look more full. The greenery and bows are from the Fireplace Holiday Add-On die set except for the large bush which is from the Spring Porch Add-On set.

I added Espresso Fresh Dye Ink to shingle area at the top and then Choco Hazelnut Fresh Dye Ink to the rest of the wooden porch frame and door. To create some dimension on the greenery, I used some Pure Graphite Fresh Dye Ink to create some darker shading. It just looks like a darker shade of green rather than a black when you add it to dark cardstock.

My A2 card base is Pebble cardstock. I used liquid glue to adhere all my die cuts. There are quite a few layers to this scene so I did not use foam tape. My sentiment for the front and inside of my card came from the Spellbinders Merry & Bright Press Plate and Die set. I just pulled two sentiment strips out of my stash because I prepped a ton with various foils and ink last year. It was so nice not to have to pull out all my gadgets just to get one sentiment for a card. I love that set so much.

For the inside of my card, I just used another single layer of the wreath and a bow followed by the sentiment. To create some interest on the edges of the inside panel, I used my Crop-A-Dile Stub Punch. I adhered that to the inside of my card using liquid glue and my card was done!
