3 Quick and Easy Birthday Cards
Hi friends! Today I’m showing you some really fun birthday cards that were quick to put together thanks to dies and patterned paper. For some reason, I don’t make a lot of birthday cards. Mostly I make ‘thank you’ or ‘thinking of you’ cards. I’ve needed fun birthday cards a couple of times recently and didn’t really have anything so I decided to make a few. I just bought a few die sets from Emily Moore Designs to try out and this was the perfect project for those.

The paper I used is some retired Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up called How Sweet It Is. I have loads of this paper and the bright colors are perfect for birthday cards. The dies did all the work for me and all I had to do was pick patterns and die cut. Easy peasy.
I used various dies from both the Decorative Sentiment Dies and Card Sentiment Dies to create the layers on each card with patterned paper. For the front sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday Word Dies – Short and Sweet. These die cuts took up a large amount of space on the front so I didn’t have to think of anything else to really fill the space which I loved. That helped me throw these cards together quickly.

For a little fun, I made one of these cards a shaker. There was a bit of trial and error involved but I pulled it off in the end. See the video at the end of this post to see where things went terribly wrong. For my shaker fill, I used the Springtime Shaker Beads and Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The sparkle from the sequins is gorgeous and makes these a favorite of mine.

I kept my embellishments simple on the first two cards because the patterned paper already added a lot of interest. I’ve had some retired Stampin’ Up glitter enamel dots in coordinating colors for this paper for years so I used those on one of the cards. On the other, I used my Pocket Change Confetti embellishments from Trinity Stamps.
For the insides, I used the same patterned paper as the front background and then added more interest with the same die sets. For two cards, I used banner cut elements. For one, I just used the decorative panel die and a sentiment that took up more space. The sentiments are from the Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

That’s a wrap on these three quick and easy birthday cards using die sets from Emily Moore Designs. They made the process a snap and now I have some fun birthday cards on hand so I’m not scrambling the next time I need one. I hope you found some inspiration to get out your patterned paper and make your own. If you’d like to watch how I pulled these together, check out my video linked below. Thanks for stopping by today.
