Hi friends! Today I’m making gift tags which is something I love to do. I might like tags more than cards actually. Whenever I set out to make gift tags, I like to make more than one if possible. When thinking about what products to use, I knew an Altenew Zero Waste die was going to save me time die cutting and give me lots of elements to use on multiple tags. I chose the Wildflower Meadow Zero Waste die because I thought the flowers would make some really cute tags.
I love an arch shape so I pulled out my Essential Arches Dies from Spellbinders to cut my tag bases. I used the 7th and 8th largest dies in the set. The 7th largest I used to cut four tags from Sahara Sand cardstock from Stampin’ Up. The 8th largest I used to cut eight smaller tags from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock. I’ll use the larger arch as mat for the smaller white arch.

The zero waste dies are one solid die and very detailed so it can be a challenge to get clean cuts the first time. Have no fear though! I’ve learned a trick. You can use a piece of bubble mailer to apply a bit of extra pressure and you’ll get a clean cut every single time. You’ll want to place your die on top of your paper and then the piece of bubble mailer behind your paper. The layers should be bubble mailer against your bottom die cutting plate, cardstock and then the die on top. I’ve never had an issue when I die cut using the bubble mailer trick.

One pass of the die through my die cutting maching gave me every die cut I needed for all four tags! That’s efficiency. I used the Altenew Fresh Dye Inks below to ink blend each of my die cuts.
- Orange Sorbet
- Orange Cream
- Icy Water
- Azurite
- Cotton Candy
- Pinkalicious
- Butternut
- Honey Drizzle
- Evening Gray
- Eucalyptus
- Forest Fern

Once my die cuts were ink blended, I arranged them on each of my tags as shown in the photos and adhered with liquid glue. I used the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set from Altenew to stamp ‘Just For You’ four times using Versafine Onyx Black ink and trimmed down using my paper trimmer. I popped those up on foam squares on each tag. Then I used Amber Glow embellishments from Trinity Stamps, placing three on each tag in various sizes. To finish the tags, I looped a piece of warm gray twine through the tag hole.

Now I have four cute tags to use on the gift bags I just got from Amazon. These came together quickly because I didn’t have to spend a ton of time cutting out flowers and greenery from multiple dies. If you like to make gift tags or even just saving time on die cutting, the zero-waste products from Altenew are for you!
