Gothic Floral Tag – Spellbinders Craftoween Day 2

I’m back to share another project using the Day 2 dies from the Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween Advent Calendar. This time I decided to make a Halloween tag using the leftover foiled arch from my previous card using the Essential Arches dies from Spellbinders. I foiled this with Blush Glimmer Hot Foil and the Spider Web Background Press Plate from Spellbinders. I’m using the same color inspiration from my first card so this can be a matching card/tag set. How cute is that?

This time, I needed some smaller florals so I chose my Little Blooms die set from Spellbinders as well as some greenery from the Club Blooms die set I used on my matching card. I cut all my die cuts from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock. Then I ink blended with the following Altenew Fresh Dye inks. To see how I used these, find the link to my process video at the end of this post.

Once all my die cuts were inked, it was time to assemble the tag. Using liquid glue, I adhered the foiled arch to another arch of the same size cut from Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock. Then, I punched a hole in the tag using my Crop-A-Dile Eyelet Punch. I used the 3/16″ inch hole punch and then pressed a black eyelet into that hole. It’s kind of fun and I really need to use these more.

My tag was ready to go so I started adhering down my die cuts after I figured out my design. I used mostly liquid glue except for the center flower which I popped up on a single foam square. Once everything was adhered, I gave the raven a little champagne gold gemstone for the eye. Then I embellished with a few Champagne and Strawberries Confetti embellishments from Trinity Stamps. My sentiment is from the Halloween Icons Press Plate and Die Set. I foiled the sentiments onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock for my previous card using the same blush foil as the background. I pulled one of the sentiments for this tag and adhered down with liquid glue.

For the ribbon to finish off the tag, I used some assorted ribbon that I had on hand. I have SO much ribbon that I’ve collected over the years. I chose three that I thought gave it sort of a vintage feel and matched the colors of the card. This assorted ribbon bundle from Amazon would be a great substitute.

That’s it folks! I love the look of this tag AND there’s a matching card to go with it. If you didn’t catch the card, check back to my previous post. I hope this inspires you to create some tags of your own. Thanks for stopping by today! Now go get crafty!

  1. On your background with rose glimmer foil…which I’m just learning…how did you mount the foil? This and the one on books is amazing! TFS

    1. For the glimmer foil, you have to use a hot foil machine like a Spellbinders Glimmer machine. That’s what I have.
