This unbearable heat has me dreaming of crisp fall days and spooky vibes. Halloween is my absolute favorite so I will use any excuse to get into the spirit earlier. I already had my Front Porch dies from Honey Bee Stamps out from my earlier Christmas card so I decided to make a Halloween version. I grabbed my Falloween Add-On die set and started creating.

I started with my background and used a 5×7 piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock. Using the Distress Oxide inks below, I created a blend from top to bottom as shown in the photo. To darken the blue at the top, I went over it with Black Soot. Then I used a splatter brush to apply some water droplets to the top two-thirds of the background to resemble stars. I also used some gold splatter with Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz but it ended up rubbing off almost completely in the process of assembling the card.

For all my die cuts, I used various cardstock scraps to match the color theme of my background. I added some shading to knock back the brightness using Pure Graphite Altenew Fresh Dye Ink. I created the moon using the Tim Holtz Moon Masks which are absolutely amazing and so easy to use. I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink and then Frayed Burlap for the detail on the moon. I used a circle die from my Hero Arts Infinity Circles set to cut out the moon. The bats came from my Toil and Trouble Honey Bee Stamps die set.

I adhered all my die cuts to the background with liquid glue. There are quite a few die cuts on this card so I didn’t need to add any additional dimension with foam tape. I adhered my card front to a black 5×7 card base with Altenew Double-Sided Sticky Tape and liquid glue. For my sentiment, I stamped Trick or Treat from the Happy Halloween stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

For the inside, I cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock to 4×6 inches. I used my Misti Stamping tool to stamp Happy Halloween from the Happy Halloween stamp set in Midnight Violet Altenew Fresh Dye Ink. Then I added three more bats from the Toil & Trouble set. With that, I successfully scratched my Halloween card itch. If you’d like to see a more in-depth view of how I assembled this card, check out my YouTube video linked below. As always, thanks for stopping by today. Now go get crafty!
