Cauldron Cup Halloween Tag – Spellbinders Craftoween Day 12

We are winding down the 13 Days of Craftoween Advent Calendar Tag series. Today I have Day 12 which is this cute little cauldron cup I guess you could call it. Pay no attention to the fact that it doesn’t have handles. We will get to that later 😩.

Starting with my Spellbinders Essential Arches die set, I used the 7th largest die to cut two arches from patterned paper and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock. I adhered the patterned paper piece to the white cardstock with liquid glue and that gave me my tag base. Using my Crop-a-Dile Eyelet Punch, I punched a hole into the top center of my tag and attached a black eyelet.

After cutting my cauldron pieces from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock, I ink blended as shown in the photos with the following Altenew Fresh Dye Inks.

Once all my die cuts were inked, I assembled them with liquid glue EXCEPT for the cauldron handles. Just completely overlooked those even though they were right in front of me. When I placed the cauldron on the patterned paper, I realized the orange straw was getting lost against the background so I took my Firebrick Altenew Alcohol Marker and carefully colored the straw so it stood out. Then I adhered the cauldron down, sans handles, with liquid glue.

My sentiment is from the sentiment set included with the Craftoween kit. I stamped that onto a piece of scrap white cardstock using an acrylic block. There’s something kind of satisfying to me about using an acrylic block to stamp. I use stamping platforms like the Misti or my Altenew Stampwheel so much that I forget what it was like in the beginning. It’s good to back to your roots sometimes. 😉 I popped my sentiment up with foam squares and placed that across my cauldron.

The embellishments I used are some glitter enamel dots I’ve had for years from Stampin’ Up. The amount of embellishments I still have from those early years of card making is wild. I just had to have it all. Nothing is more thrilling than adding to cart. The same goes for ribbon which I also have a ridiculous amount of. Most of it from Stampin’ Up but a good amount from Michael’s. I chose five strands in coordinating colors. I fed four through the eyelet and then tied them off with the black ribbon. Using sharp scissors, I trimmed the ends of each ribbon at an angle and then my tag was complete.

I hope you enjoyed this quick little Halloween tag. If you’d like to see the process video, head over to my YouTube channel linked below. Be sure to watch my Craftoween playlist to see the other tags I’ve created with this kit. Thanks for stopping by today. Now go get crafty!
