Today I’m sharing another card created with the Spellbinders Old-Fashioned Christmas Stocking die set. This time I chose soft colors and I love how it turned out. It’s quite a bit different from my first card which was dark with traditional Christmas colors. Dare I say this one is fairly clean and simple?

I started by cutting my arched card base using the Essential Arches die set. I used the largest die in the set and a regular A2 card base. I placed the scored edge of the card base right up next to the cutting edge of the die so the cutting edge was nestled against it but not over it. If you place the die over it, it will cut through and you’ll end up with two pieces of paper instead of a folded card base. Then I cut a panel of white cardstock using the next smallest die in the set. I embossed that panel using the Argyle Plaid embossing folder. A good substitute is the Plaid Company embossing folder.

Then I die cut all my pieces for my focal point. I ink blended the main part of the stocking, the poinsettia and the leaves. The ink colors I used are listed below. I die cut the stocking and the flower from Chiffon cardstock. The leaves from Soft Succulent cardstock from Stampin’ Up which is similar to Eucalyptus from Concord & 9th. The gray sprigs are from Brushed Silver cardstock and the stocking details from white glitter cardstock.

I glued my embossed panel to my card base with liquid glue and then arranged my focal image. I popped my stocking up on foam tape and then glue my flower and greenery to the top left of the stocking. I attached a white bow using ribbon from my stash and a glue dot. My sentiment is from the Home For Christmas Sentiments Press Plate and Die Set. I had prepped some extra sentiments when making my previous card so I grabbed one of those for this card. They were foiled using Copper Glimmer Foil from Spellbinders. Then I added some Rose Gold Confetti embellishments from Pretty Pink Posh.

The inside of my card is another panel of white cardstock die cut with the second largest arch. Then I added another foiled sentiment and a flower in the bottom right corner. That’s it! This was a fairly quick card to put together. Especially since I already had foiled sentiments prepped and ready to go. Highly recommend doing that every now and then. I hope you like this one and if you’d like to see how I put this all together, you can check out the link to my video below. Thanks for stopping by today. Now go get crafty!
