When I saw the Better Together die set from Spellbinders, which was the December Small Die of the Month, I had to have it. Naturally, I added a few of the other clubs to my cart as well like the Clear Stamp, Stitching Die and Embossing Folder of the Month. I’ll be using the clear stamp set which was Simply Said on this card as well.

For the background, I wanted something that resembled water so I looked through my embossing folders and found the Splish Splash folder. It’s no longer available but any embossing folder or stencil resembling water or waves would work just fine. I used two A2 panels of Cosmic Sky cardstock from Spellbinders. I ran those through my die cutting machine and then decided to use some white pigment ink to drag over the top. The one I used is Calico White from Pinkfresh Studio. It just adds a little extra detail to your embossing. When you drag the ink pad, you don’t want to press it down. Just lightly drag it over the top of the cardstock until you get the look you want.

To create the window, I used an A2 panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock and my Nesting Oval Dies from Hero Arts. I used the 5th largest die to cut an oval from my panel about 1 1/8 inches from the bottom on the panel. I stamped my sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set directly onto my panel using my Misti Stamping Tool and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Then I trimmed one of my blue embossed panels down to 5 1/4 x 4 inches. I adhered that to an A2 card base using liquid glue. Then I placed my window panel on top of that using Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To help me line the panel up perfectly onto my card base, I use my Altenew Scoring board. For some extra wiggle time, I use liquid glue on top of the foam tape just to allow any slight adjustments I might need to make.

I die cut my otter from some of my cardstock scraps and the Better Together die set. I chose a couple light browns and then ink blended using Evening Gray Fresh Dye ink from Altenew. I cut three little hearts from a red cardstock scrap. My otter will be holding one and I’ll use the other two next to the sentiments on the front and inside. Once I assembled my otter, I adhered him in the center of the window on the front of my card using some foam squares. Then I added a few dew drop embellishments with liquid glue.

For the inside, I used a smaller white panel cut to 5 1/4 x 4 inches. Then I cut a piece of my second embossed panel to go along the bottom. That piece measured 4 x 1 1/2 inches. I adhered it to the bottom of my panel using liquid glue and then stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set I used for the front. I glued my third heart right under my stamped sentiment and then adhered the whole panel to the inside of my card using liquid glue.
