Hi friends! Today I have a fun one. It’s a gift card holder and an ORNAMENT all in one! Is your mind totally blown? Okay maybe not but it’s still cute. I’m using the Stocking Gift Card Holder Die Set and then dressing it up a bit with the Winter Foliage Die Set from Pretty Pink Posh .

I like to start most projects with getting all my die cutting out of the way so that’s exactly what I did here. I used various pieces of cardstock scraps. I have the colors listed below along with alternatives for the Stampin’ Up colors.

Then I inked blended Jet Black Fresh Dye ink from Altenew onto my stocking, flower, leaves and acorn. Then I used Evergreen Fresh Dye ink on the pine sprigs. Given they are so delicate i just tapped the ink on which made for a cool effect. For the top of the stocking, I used Rocky Shore.

To give the brown sprigs (I have no clue what those are called in real life), I used some Nuvo Dream Drops in Cloud 9 which is no longer available but you could use any other iridescent products like that or just use the die for the detail to cut from some glitter cardstock.

I added the top of the stocking with foam tape and then I placed an adhesive foam piece between each layer of my poinsettia for some extra dimension. Once I added the flower to the top of my stocking, I filled in the other pieces of greenery around it.

My sentiment is from the Merry Greetings Stamp Set from Pretty Pink Posh. I stamped that with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then die cut with the coordinating dies. To knock back the bright white paper a bit, I ink blended with the leftover brown ink on my blending brush just around the edges. Then I adhered with foam adhesive and tucked the pinecone and pine sprig just underneath. To embellish a bit more, I added Metallic Gold Pearls with liquid glue.

For the back of my ornament, I added the backer piece from the die set and stocking topper. I added foam tape just around the edges of the topper so I could push a gift card up into that space. Then I added a little extra detail to the bottom holder flap with another pinecone and pine sprig. I also cut another stocking piece from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock for some extra sturdiness and sandwiched that between the two layers along with a string for my ornament.

That’s all it took to name a cute little gift card holder that doubles as an ornament. I think I’ll make more and place them on my own tree and let the recipients find their gift during our gift exchange. Maybe I’ll personalize them a bit, too. So many ideas!!!
