5 Quick and Easy Christmas Gift Tags – Altenew Tree Mix Dies
Today I’m sharing five tags I threw together pretty quickly using some patterned paper, the Tree Mix die set from Altenew and CZ Design Nested Tags from Simons Says Stamp.

If you’ve been following along with me recently, you’ll know I’m trying to put my large collection of patterned paper to good use. It’s dwindling down little by little. Today’s project used a half sheet of 12×12 retired Stampin’ Up patterned paper from the Joyous Noel pack. Progress is progress, okay? I used the second largest tag die to cut 5 tags from the patterned paper and then 5 more from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock. The white cardstock gives the tag some extra sturdiness and allows you to write something on the back. I glued both pieces together with liquid glue.
The tag die cuts a hole in the top of the tag BUT I wanted to use my star eyelets for some extra detail. The hole was too small as is so I used my Crop-A-Dile Eyelet Punch to make the hole larger. It was still a tight fit for the eyelet but I made it work.

I chose two trees from the Tree Mix die set and then two detail dies. The trees were cut from Stampin’ Up Sahara Sand and Evergreen cardstock. I’ll link similar colors below. For the tree detail die cuts, I used Altenew Glitter Gradient cardstock in the Bronzite shade. Using liquid glue, I adhered each detail piece to the trees as shown in the photo. Then, also using liquid glue, I adhered the Sahara Sand tree directly to the tag. The Evergreen tree was popped up using foam squares.
My sentiment is from the Spellbinders Merry and Bright Sentiment Strips press plate and die set. I love sentiment sets that allow you make multiple sentiments at once. I just keep the extras that I don’t use on hand. Using the BetterPress machine and BetterPress Black ink, I pressed the sentiment plate into the Porcelain BetterPress Cotton Cardstock recommended for this technique. Then I used the coordinating die to cut all the sentiments at once. So efficient! I popped each sentiment strip up with foam squares as well.

My embellishments…well….I really wish I could recall where they came from but I’ve had them for so long it has been erased from my memory. I’ll link the Mikly Way Gem Sparkles from Altenew which are similar below but aren’t you proud of me for using up my stash? I also grabbed four different style ribbons that coordinated with my tag. I looped three of those through the eyelet and then tied those off with the Merry Christmas ribbon.
That’s all there was to it! So easy and quick to put together 5 Christmas gift tags. If you’d like to see my process video, click the link below to my YouTube channel. I hope you’re inspired to create some gift tags of your own. Thanks for stopping by today. Now go get crafty!
